Word Families Game

Isaac (4) is getting interested in reading.  We're started working on word families, words that end with the same chunk.  Three letter words are the best for him.  To make it fun, we've been playing this game...

Here's a fun and simple game to play with the die from Scategories or Scategories Junior (we bought our game at a thrift store!)

-Write out the ending of a word (we used _at)
-Take turns rolling the die and reading the word
-If it's a real word draw a smiley face, if it's not, draw a silly face.

It's okay if the same letters get rolled again and again, repetition helps with learning!
