Glow Sticks!

You know, it's hard to get a good picture of kids with glow sticks. Either the flash is off and you can see the sticks but not the kids, or the flash is on and you can see the kids but not the glow of the sticks! :)

We had fun with flashlights, and then Isaac came home from a friends birthday party with some glow stick bracelets. Can I say overwhelming excitement for both my almost 3 year old and my 1 year old! Yes I can, glow sticks.

They loved them!

If you have a Dollar Tree near you, I would highly recommend picking up a package of glow sticks. They are worth the dollar investment for some memorable indoor fun!

Here are some of the things we did with our glow sticks in the dark:

For little kids (under 2):

-necklaces and bracelets

-waving a glow stick back and forth

-drop the glow sticks and let the little one pick them up

For preschoolers (2-4):

-hide and seek with the glow sticks. And adult hides the glow sticks around a dark room, then lets the child finds them.

-make a ring out of glow sticks and twirl it on your wrist. How long can you keep it going?

-Lay the glow sticks in a row. Can you walk next to them without falling?
What other glow stick ideas do you have?
