I recently checked out a book from the library of play things to make for your toddler. This was one of the first ideas.
Materials:
Cardboard (for teeter-totter)
Hammer
Stuffed Animal to send flying
Can or other tubular item to act as the fulcrum
Procedure:
Use the can or tube and cardboard to make a teeter-totter. Place the animal on the down side of the teeter-totter. Hit the up side with the hammer and watch the animal fly. For a little boy who loves to bang on things, this was a great productive use for his hammer! (You can imagine the squeals of laughter that accompany each wham of the hammer!)
